Jednou šel Belonoš lesem hlubokým,
tam potkal Kornona v listím dubovým.
„Ale, ale, Belone,“ pravil Kornonoš rohatý,
„pročpak jsi dneska tak veselý?
Pročpak jsi dneska tak veselý?“

„Povím ti to, Kornone,“ odvětil Belonoš mladý,
„s mou milou se pomuchlal někdo jiný,
nechodila na bodláčí, jedla pouze kopřivy,
a tak nyní v našem domě budeme mít dva syny,
a tak nyní v našem domě budeme mít dva syny!“

Once there was Belenos walking through a deep forest,
there he met Cernunnos in oak leaves.
“Well, well, Belenos”, said Cernunnos, the horned one,
“why, then, are you so happy today?”
“why, then, are you so happy today?”

“I will tell you, Cernunnos,” replied Belenos, the young one,
“somebody else was making love with my loved one.”
“She did not go picking thistles, she was just eating nettles,
thus now, in our house, we’re gonna have two sons!”
thus now, in our house, we’re gonna have two sons!”
