Říkáš, že podsvětí bývá tmavé,
že za řekou končí svět.
Já však znám kraj, kde vrby zpívají,
kde olše šeptá jako před tisícem let.

Tam řeka plyne pomalu,
v tůních spí odlesk oblaků,
a po měkkých loukách kráčí tiše
stíny našich předků.

Ó, lužní lese!
Přijmi nás do svého ticha.
Ó, tekoucí vodo!
Pamatuješ každé jméno.

Není tu oheň ani soudci,
jen vůně hlíny po dešti,
tužebník bílý rozkvétá
na cestě do věčnosti.

Do jeho květů kdysi uložili
muže z dávných keltských dní,
aby odešel tam, kde louky
nikdy nepřestanou kvést.

Kde vrby sklánějí větve k vodě,
kde olše hlídá říční břeh,
tam není konec ani začátek,
jen věčný návrat všech.

Ó, tužebníku!
Voň našim vzpomínkám.
Ó, řeko!
Odnes náš strach.

Nad kopci dubové háje
objímají letní den,
v údolích dýchá lužní les,
jak druhý, skrytý svět.

Nebe je možná na vrcholcích,
podsvětí u tichých vod,
a člověk kráčí mezi nimi
jen na krátký život.

Tak pijme z pramenů kraje,
važme si každého dne,
protože naši dávní předkové
jsou možná blíž, než tušíme.

Ó, lužní lese!
Kolébko předků.
Ó, Křivoklátsko!
Jsi mezi nebem a řekou.

Až jednou utichne náš krok,
ať nás neprovází strach.
Jen zpěv vrb, vůně tužebníku
a měkká tráva nivních luk.

You say the underworld is dark and cold,
beyond the river, tales are told.
But I have seen a gentler land,
where singing willows softly stand.

Where alders whisper, old and wise,
the same beneath a thousand skies.
The river glides both deep and slow,
where clouds in quiet pools still glow.

Across the meadows, green and wide,
our fathers‘ shadows gently glide.

Oh, floodplain forest!
Take us in your peaceful grace.
Oh, flowing river!
You remember every face.

No fire burns, no judges wait,
just rain-wet earth beyond the gate.
The meadowsweet in blossoms white
leads every soul to endless light.

Within its flowers long ago
they laid brave Celts beneath their glow,
to walk where blooming meadows stay
and flowers never fade away.

Where willows bow beside the stream,
where alders guard the waters‘ gleam,
there is no ending, no first breath,
just every soul beyond all death.

Oh, meadowsweet!
Keep our memories sweet.
Oh, gentle river!
Carry fear beneath your feet.

Above the hills the oakwoods rise,
embracing summer’s golden skies.
Below, the floodplain softly sighs,
a hidden world before our eyes.

Perhaps the heavens crown the height,
the underworld the waters bright,
and we walk softly in between,
for just a lifetime, short, unseen.

So drink the springs this land bestows,
treasure every day that goes,
for those who walked these woods before
may still be near forevermore.

Oh, floodplain forest!
Cradle of our ancient line.
Oh, Křivoklátsko!
Where the earth and heaven shine.

When one day all our steps grow still,
let fear not climb the silent hill.
Just willow songs, sweet blossoms fair,
and meadow grasses everywhere.
